    PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

    Hello Swan Reach,

We are hopeful that the rain forecast won’t dampen SRAS students’ participation in Remembrance Day Commemoration at the Town Memorial. SRAS students will join in with the community service led by the Swan Reach sub-branch of the RSL. Our vision communicates that “SRAS will develop students… who are collaborative contributors to their community.” This significant event provides opportunity for them to demonstrate their contribution through joining in honouring all service personnel who have given to our nation. If raining at the time of the service, the secondary students will still attend and the primary classes will hold an abridged service at SRAS, in the library -  providing them with the opportunity to show respect through listening, standing with pride to reflect on the service given and proudly sing our anthem to remember - “Lest we forget.”

    2022 HOME GROUPS (HG)

SRAS is still deliberating on the best home group structures for 2022. Early thinking is to keep the same structures as 2021. We’ll use this structure for the upcoming whole school transition days but more considerations and budgeting is needed before finalising 2022 HGs.

    • Preschool
    • Reception -2
    • Year 3-6
    • Year 7-10 for HG and electives only (7/8s and 9/10s will have separate classes for core learning subjects)
    • Year 11/12

We are working through subject selections that will impact teacher loads and hope to communicate as much 2022 staffing as possible before the term ends. Our mantra through out this complex process is, “what is the best model we are able to facilitate for our students?”

    STUDENT FREE DAY (SFD)

A reminder that Governing Council has approved a student free day, on Friday 19th November, that will be used for intensive 2022-2024 site improvement planning.
