ELC CHRISTMAS NARRATIVES
Last week I gave each of the children a Christmas picture to look at. It was an illustration from a children’s picture book called The Stink Before Christmas by Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes, but I kept that to myself. They had to come up with a story about the picture. The Receptions learnt about writing a narrative and wrote their story in their writing books before getting it published. The preschoolers told me their story and I typed it for them. Afterwards we read them all together and were amazed by the different stories the class came up with. Finally I showed them ‘The Stink before Christmas’ and where the picture actually came from and we read it to see what the picture was actually about! Click on the photos to see the children’s stories. They all did a great job!
