This week we were lucky enough to go on a ‘Bush Kindy’ excursion to Reedy Creek, also known as Mannum Waterfalls. We joined with Mim from Tinyeri Kindergarten, along with a group of her little friends. It was fantastic for our children to be able to meet and mingle with children from another site, and it didn’t take them long to feel comfortable and join in with the explorations. Children explored the bush and let their bodies tell them what they were comfortable doing. When we got back, Mackenzie and Brax recounted some of the things they saw, heard and explored.

We went for a walk. We climbed rocks. Brax came with us. There was a lot of kids and Aunty Mim. She blew her whistle to come back. We saw kangaroos and they were nice because they did not come over to get us. They were probably friends. We heard birds. Climbing the rocks and seeing kangaroos was my favourite things.

When we got there we had something to eat. We ran up to the big rock and I was the king of the castle. I found a big stick and poked it in a cave. We saw a Batman tree and a fairy tree. We needed to knock on the door to see if Batman and the fairies were home. I heard lots of birds. I liked playing with new friends.
