TECH STUDIES - YEAR 9 & 10
This semester, the 9/10 class has focused on plan, design and construct. We utilised the PRIDEPE (Problem, Restrictions, Investigation, Design, Estimate, Produce, Evaluate) to complete our projects. For my project, I constructed a desk using white melamine and cam and dowel joints. I made a few mistakes in the process but they were overcome. The experience was educational, and I found the process both engaging and enjoyable.

During Tech this semester, I decided to make a coat rack for mum, but I wanted to do some upcycling. I decide to use some old rusty horseshoes from our horse yard as the hangers. Using my past knowledge from doing tack welds last year, I was able (with some help) to weld together my horseshoes. After painting and staining the horseshoes and wood, I was able to drill and screw the whole product together. I enjoyed Tech this year and I can’t wait to build something next year.
