PRINCIPALS REPORT
Hello Swan Reach,
SRAS and its children and students, always benefits when home and school collaborate. There are so many examples of how our community works in partnership with us and it is worthwhile highlighting some of these.
- Home-school communication is integral and highly appreciated. Informing us about changes in children’s health, attendance, routines, needs, adversities and more, assist us to understand their individual contexts and how school can accommodate or adjust their learning to support them better. Thank you for returning consent forms by due dates.
- Home learning support provided by families is highly appreciated and assists your child(ren) to revise key learning skills and concepts.
- Governing Councillors are invested in SRAS and their ongoing dedication and feedback provide SRAS with much needed parental and carer perspectives as well as insights and input into important policies and operations. We are pleased to know that our air conditioning for the gymnasium is now fully endorsed by DfE so this project can commence ASAP.
- The Resilience Project (TRP) - SRAS understands that families are busy, so we are re-sharing key videos to assist families to learn about TRP at home. With students in their 3rd term of learning TRP and GEM, it could be fantastic family time, to view the videos together and have them share their understandings with you. We are excited to extend this initiative into 2024 and beyond.
WELCOME
SRAS warmly welcomes Sophie and Kiesha, and their families. Sophie has joined our 7/8s and Kiesha the 9/10. SRAS also welcomes Mason and his family to our preschool.
THE RESILIENCE PROJECT (TRP)
This semester, we will be in touch fortnightly to re-share key videos about the program, as TRP is not just for children and students, but also for staff, parents, carers and the schooling community. The videos are 5-10 minutes long and will walk through the key pillars of resilience: Gratitude, Empathy & Mindfulness. You’ll hear stories and be introduced to activities to show how these strategies can support our kids' learning and development, and also support you as parents and carers
Part 1: Meet Hugh and learn about The Resilience Project - https://theresilienceproject.com.au/2023-parent-carer-hub-inspire-hugh/
In this presentation, Hugh shares a personal experience about his sister's battles with Mental Illness.
Note: This video contains a story about an Eating Disorder that may be triggering. Please consider this before watching. For mental health resources and support information, visit The Resilience Project’s Support Page.

Daymap Student Indicators
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide transparent and comprehensive information about your child's academic progress, we would like to introduce you to the Student Indicators on Daymap. These indicators serve as valuable tools to assess and monitor your child's performance, assisting SRAS to address or tailor the support they need to succeed.
We believe that these Student Indicators on Daymap provide a snapshot of your child's academic journey. They enable us to identify areas of improvement, celebrate achievements, and tailor our support to ensure each student reaches their full potential. As always, we encourage open communication between parents, teachers, and students to create a nurturing educational environment.
